Mark Dancer

Founder, Network for Channel Innovation

Mark Dancer is a leading authority and published author on channel innovation and business transformation. Mark founded the Network for Channel Innovation to strengthen the practice and impact of channel innovation through awareness, advocacy, and research, and the Future of Channels blog for sharing ideas and insights among channel innovators.  As Fellow for the NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence, Mark works to help leaders drive innovation as they respond to disruption by online marketplaces, globalization and other game-changing developments. Mark’s most recent NAW Institute report, CEO Insights on Innovating the Distributor for the Digital Age reveals essential requirements for an opportunity-seeking mindset, value chain collaboration and organizational capabilities. Mark shares new ideas weekly on the NAW Distributing Ideas blog. He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ian Heller

President, Modern Distribution Management

Ian Heller became President & COO of Modern Distribution Management in 2017. Ian started his distribution career as a truck unloader at a Grainger branch in Ft. Collins, CO. Fifteen years later, he was the Marketing VP for Grainger and went on to serve in senior executive roles at GE Capital Rail, Newark Electronics, Corporate Express and HD Supply Construction & Industrial. Along the way, he founded, ran and sold the distribution consulting firm Real Results Marketing.

Justin King

President, B2X Partners

With almost 20 years working in e-commerce, Justin King has been on the forefront of the growth and trends in B2B e-commerce. Justin is President of B2X Partners and the founder of eCommerceandB2B.com. Justin is a leading speaker on B2B Customer Experience and eCommerce. Prior to B2X, Justin was Chief Evangelist, B2B eCommerce at Oracle Corporation where he built the go to market strategy for Oracles B2B eCommerce product.

Jason Hein

Director – Delivery Services, Earley Information Science 

Jason Hein brings over 20 years of experience leading digital innovation in distribution. With a background in product merchandising and content management at McMaster-Carr and Amazon Business, he brings innovation in digital systems, processes, and culture to build solutions uniquely designed for the industrial market. Today he and his team focus on moving organizations beyond the basics – to help companies build their digital content into an asset that differentiates in an industry that is increasingly complex.

Michael Wu

Chief AI Strategist, PROS 

Dr. Michael Wu is one of the world’s premier authorities on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data science and behavioral economics. He is the Chief AI Strategist at PROS, an AI-powered SaaS provider.

Prior to PROS, Wu was a chief strategist at Lithium, where he developed predictive and prescriptive algorithms to extract insights from social media big data. His research spans many areas, including customer experience, CRM, online influence, gamification, digital transformation, AI, etc. 

Wu received his undergrduate degree in applied math, phyiscs and molecular & cell biology; and his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley’s biophysics program.

Alex Moazed

Founder & CEO, Applico 

Co-author of the best-selling Modern Monopolies and regular speaker on platform innovation, Alex Moazed founded Applico in 2009 as the first platform innovation company providing advisory services globally to build, execute and scale platform businesses. He works directly with Fortune 500 C-suites and boards to help them build or buy their own platform businesses. He often speaks on the ways distributors could beat Amazon and other emerging industry disruptors by developing their own platform strategies.

Larry Davis

CEO AgoNow 

Before co-founding AgoNow, LLC, Larry served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Stellar Industrial Supply, an industrial distribution business based in Tacoma, WA. Larry had responsibility for internal and external commercial resources including sales, solutions, specialists and pricing/merchandising. Before joining Stellar, Larry spent 30+ years in distribution, with 20+ years in industrial markets. He served as president at one of the largest master distributors in the industrial market from 2009-2014 after holding senior leadership roles in information technology, customer care, marketing and merchandising from 1999-2009. He also served as a section 16 officer and member of the senior leadership team of the master distributor’s parent, a Fortune 500 company.

Chris Boggs

Principal, Web Traffic Advisors 

Chris has been a digital marketer since 2000, starting in-house in the insurance space and subsequently assuming growing leadership roles across large agencies and SEM firms. Chris has

led SEO teams and developed Thought Leadership at two now-Publicis agencies in the 2000s into early 2010s, and since founding Web Traffic Advisors in 2014, now consults business and agency clients helping to improve performance in SEO, Paid Search, and Paid Social Media. In addition to acting in a consulting role supporting agencies as a sub-contractor with SEO and Paid Media client work and internal training, Chris and his team also help executives hold agencies accountable.

Max Meister

CEO, Ludwig Meister 

After completing his studies in manufacturing systems engineering in 2009, Meister took over central responsibilities at Munich, Germany-based Ludwig Meister GmbH & Co. In 2012, he became CEO and managing partner in charge of procurement, IT and logistics. Ludwig Meister is a technical distributor of power transmission, fluid power and tooling products with 300 employees in 11 locations based in Southern Germany and Austria. With almost 80 years and three generations in the market, sales are consistently growing, reaching $120 million in 2017.

Jason Capshaw

Director of Technology, Modern Distribution Management

Before joining MDM in 2018, Jason was Manager, eBusiness – digital transformation for HD Supply Construction & Industrial – White Cap, where he was responsible for eCommerce development and digital platforms. He has extensive experience in planning and building distribution eCommerce sites, as well as SEO/SEM responsibility. He has also served as an IT/marketing consultant, providing IT, digital marketing and SEO/SEM advice to a wide range of clients.

Jonathan Bein, Ph.D.

Managing Partner, Real Results Marketing 

Jonathan Bein has worked with many distributors to make their marketing a profit center. Specifically, he has developed and applied analytic approaches for customer segmentation, customer lifecycle management, positioning and messaging, pricing, and channel strategy for distributors. Prior to Real Results Marketing, Bein has successfully led and been part of executive management for software product and services companies in information technology, healthcare and communications.

Sheila Hernandez

VP, Chief Information and Technology Officer, Summit Electric Supply 

Sheila Hernandez joined Summit Electric Supply in 1987 as a part-time, marketing, student intern while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico. After earning her MBA degree and assuming a full-time position, Hernandez proceeded to take on the roles of Marketing Coordinator, Director of Marketing and Vice President of Marketing. Hernandez also led Summit’s Internet presence, mobile app development, master product data management system and market data analytics program. In 2018, she was promoted to Vice President, Chief Information and Technology Officer. In 2018, Hernandez was elected to the Board of Directors for the IMARK Group for a three-year term, making her the second female board member in IMARK’s history.

Andy Humphrey

Founder/Sprinkler Head aka SprinklerDork 

Andy Humphrey is an e-commerce entrepreneur who bootstrapped his first online store in 2004 while working as an outside sales rep for a wholesale distributor. He is the founder of Sprinkler Supply Store, a digital-first supplier that connects to the wholesale channel and distributes online through SprinklerSupplyStore.com, Amazon.com, and Ebay.com. Andy is known for his 2011 appearance on the ABC television show, “Shark Tank”, with his ECOMOWER,  and in addition to his websites, he owns a portfolio of private label brands that he markets exclusively on Amazon.com. 

Sean McDonnell

CEO, TruPar.com 

Sean McDonnell’s roots in the industrial equipment replacement parts industry extend back three generations – and in 2012, instead of moving back to Pittsburgh, PA to work for his family’s business, he founded TruPar.com, directly challenging “the way things are done” by bringing the industry online.
What started as a small e-commerce website from Sean’s one bedroom apartment in Aspen, CO has grown into an international company serving more than 45,000 happy customers with a catalog of over 8 million SKUs.

Jason Joice

VP Sales and Marketing, HD Supply Construction & Industrial – White Cap

Jason Joice is currently Vice President- Sales & Marketing at HD Supply Construction & Industrial- White Cap. Jason has been fortunate to learn in all aspects of Distribution, working for an end user, manufacturer, and now distributor. He spent a decade at Rust-Oleum, and completed his tenure leading the National Account Group, including all major online players and Amazon Business. At HD Supply White Cap he spent the first two years partnering with Suppliers to drive Purchasing efficiency as the Vice President- Category Management before aligning with the Sales & Marketing Organization where they have responsibility for sales and profit growth, and e-biz success/ customer adoption.
